To that end, we'd encourage you to keep a close eye on BlackFriday.info for up-to-the-minute changes and additions to Black Friday deals, and of course, you can survey our own coverage of the glorified shopping day right here. Have fun out there, and be sure to point out deals not mentioned in comments below.

I never pegged Chewy (arm at bottom right) as a gold watch wearer...
The best deal for a HDTV has gotta be the Samsung 46-inch 1080p LCD HDTV (Model: LN46A500) - $1,099.99. It's nearly $600 of the regular sales price. My only lament is that it doesn't have tru2way.
In fact, I'm picking one up today after work!
You can pick that TV up at the price at multiple online retailers..... not that great IMO.
not a single high-end Panasonic... damn. I'm really looking for the 58" 650 model to come down a bit... wish me luck!
What do people think of the CC Onkyo deals?
Onkyo 5.1 Channel Home Theater Receiver - $139.99
Onkyo 7.1 Channel Home Theater System - $399.99
Onkyo 7.1 Home Theater Receiver w/ Energy 5.1 Speaker System - $599.99
Wal-mart is also advertising that they are accepting best local deals in some regions:
http://www.newbludeals.com/go.cfm?do=Blog.View&blid=14
Be wary, on competitor's ads Wal-Mart limits it to the EXACT same model and brand (as an everyday policy). All 42" Samsung TV's are not the same.
i'm not a power user and am looking for a 32 or 37" LCD HDTV. are all those brands OK to buy (sylavania, dynex, etc.)?
what do you lose compared to the LGs and other big name brands? if the picture is good and i can get a 32: for less than $400, i'm in.
thanks to anyone who can help
IMO brand is not the most important thing and should only be considered when thinking about the product support available.
There aren't very many lcd or plasma panel manufacturers; most brands just buy panels from one of the manufacturer's and in there own factory, handle the other stuff ie: input/outputs, internal speakers, physical housing.
Cheaper brands will mostly have fewer available inputs, uglier physical housing for the panel, lower contrast panels, weaker speakers. But chances are decent that a cheaper brand, and a big name brand, will have panels from the exact same factory.
*Example, Samsung makes lcd panels and supplies many other companies, including Sony (heard from my friend who is an Electrical Engineer and works for sony), yet Samsung TVs are usually less expensive than Sony's. So it's not too far fetched that you can get a lesser known brand with the panel exactly the same as a big brand.
Shop by specs, not by name; read customer reviews and critic reviews is possible.
I also worked retail before, and the profit margin on some of the bigger brands is ridiculous, simply because they are well known brands, not because the product does anything special.
I have the 32 inch Dynex that Best Buy is selling for $400 on Black Friday, and I think it's a great TV. It's my second HDTV, and I picked it up in late August. I used a 10% off coupon and bought a 3 year warranty, and in total it cost me around $450 or so. I would buy another on Friday, but it's too cold for staying outside for 10 hours, I won't be in town, and I'd rather just look at deals online. The Dynex's blacks aren't as deep as a plasma's obviously, but my 360 games look awesome even though they're not being played through HDMI, since my 360 doesn't have an HDMI port.
For gaming, the response time is fast, and for TV watching, it's great. Football is about all I watch, and the picture quality is excellent. Keep in mind that my HD cable is only the major networks, and I live in a college dorm, so the cable is split to hell and back. I've never had a signal quality above the "Bad" rating, but it still looks superb. I would highly recommend the Dynex, in other words.
Actually SaunJay, where I work we have a higher profit margin on most Vizio's (and other budget branded HDTVs) than we do on most Samsung's and Sony's.
Also the panel is only part of the equation, a great panel does not compensate for terrible video processing.
Pretty weak stuff if you ask me. hhgregg has the Panasonic BD35K right now for $199.97 delivered with two free blu-ray DVD's. That's the best deal I've seen so far.
how is the sound system on the Samsung 650?
