We absolutely knew they were
on the way, but if you needed a little affirmation from the carrier itself, Cablevision has announced today that it's adding four more high-definition channels to its iO TV lineup. Effective immediately, customers can expect to see Bravo HD (745), CNBC HD (771), SciFi HD (748) and USA HD (738) in the EPG, bringing the grand total to a very respectable 68 high-def networks. There's no word on when the next batch will arrive, but why not enjoy these for a minute before hankering for more?
Now Time Warner needs to pick these up. I want SciFi and USA HD!
Might as well call it 69 HD channels since along with these, they've already begun adding GolfHD to the lineup even though the official launch is not until next week.
To bad they can't rollout a SDV Tuner Adapter for cablecard subscribers to watch all of their HD channels!
The only thing that sucks is that ALL of the shows on Bravo are still just 4x3 standard def, and some of the Sci-Fi shows too.
With the addition of Sci Fi HD, all the channels I am interested in on cable are now delivered in HD by Cablevision, so I'm happy.
(Imagine that; an Engadget HD poster who is actually SATISFIED with his HD selection. :P )
Don't get me wrong, more HD is always nice, and if they are going to add more HD, I wouldn't mind if they added more movie channels and Free HD On Demand, but it makes no nevermind to me if they do or don't.
Their shitty cableboxes, otoh... those could use a world of improvement.
Me too finally happy, the only thing missing is Cartoon Network in HD and I'm happy, lol.
Right now though I am just grateful I can watch Galactica in HD when it comes back on...
Sci Fi is crap.
Edited, no horror, and commercials, commercials, commercials.
I want Monsters HD
UNEDITED, NO COMMERCIALS, and HORROR with Sci Fi in HD.
Also, some good original behind the story bio's in HD as well.
Elvira hosted a show called Monstermania that was cool.
