Comcast gets Cartoon Network HD / E! HD to Jacksonville, Florida
So, what's it like being a Comcast subscriber in Jacksonville, Florida? You know -- to pay oodles of cash for a service and get high-def stations dropped on you in twos and threes rather than by the dozen? From the outside looking in, it's tough to say if the slow and steady approach is actually admired or loathed, but whatever your feelings on the matter, two more are headed to the Florida city. As of now, locals can find Cartoon Network HD and E! HD tucked away in the EPG, and if history is any judge, you will all be seeing a couple more in a month or two. Fingers crossed![Thanks, Matthew]

I was starting to loath Comcast even more when I keep hearing the addition of HD channels in other areas. The HD lineup in Philly is ridiculous. Who cares if the HGTV and Food network are in HD. But, just recently without any notice Comcast Pottstown area has received SCI FI in HD and USA HD. Considering how many people have complained that these two channels were lacking, I am surprised and amazed that Comcast did not send out a message. I still would like to see more HD content but I have to wait til my contract is up if I want to switch providers.
in Portland, Oregon Comcast just added a couple channels too our line up in the past couple days
SPEED HD 723
GOLF HD 733
FOX News HD 748
FX HD 753
and MOJOHD 788 finally went off air... Comcast did send out a letter a couple months back announcing the changes and additions, but still no Comcast Sports North West HD channel.. need more of my TrailBlazers in HD, so we have 39 "HD" channels in Portland now
Personally, I am fairly peeved at comcast. Not everyone has an HDTV or Digital/HD service. I have basic cable and found to my dismay yesterday that while they now have cartoon network HD for those that are subscribed to HD channels, regular vanilla cartoon network has been yanked. I'm probably switching providers in the near future.
Actually, Cartoon network non-HD was moved to a digital tier.... you can still get it but only on TV's with a box... I have a feeling they might
get some flack about this from customers... I have a couple of boxes in my house but not in my 13 year old's room and he wondered what
happened to Cartoon Network....
