Comcast Networks officially adds five new HD channels
Ah, ha! So this explains all that high-def adding going on in Comcast markets. While these five channels aren't exactly the same ones launched nationwide, the Comcast Networks website has officially declared E! HD, Versus HD, Golf HD, Style HD and G4 HD active. There's no way to know if these are coming to your market or not, but it sure looks all-encompassing from here.

I'm in southern NH (Motorola comcast territory) which is suppose to be part of comcast's bread and butter area, but with verizon dumping northern new england with fairpoint which are drowning in debt since the purchase, comcast has only added FX HD, and Fox News HD while losing MOJOHD all for higher monthly rates.
All i know is comcast better hurry up because windows 7 and the direct tv tuner are knocking on the door or i might just take my cable card tuners over the MA line and get fios.
and just maybe fairpoint's new IPTV trial in Portsmouth (not with only 45 channels) will help light the fire under comcast's fat ass. When will see a PC tuner for IPTV? (i.e. Uverse)
I'm on the same wagon. More doing, less announcing. I am seriously underwhelmed these days.
Only Vs. HD and Golf HD are active here.
Same here Just Vs. and Golf split up here also
in Portland, OR we have had one HD channel (732) for both the Golf Channel (733) and Versus(732), but now they created a second one... but I haven't seen the other networks show up yet... Comcast still hasn't made a channel for their own damn sports channel (CSN NW)... I just don't get it
MORE SPORTS IN HD!, how do they ever expect to compete with DirectTV
Just go to the old Mojo (788). Local sports (UO,Blazers) will still be on that channel, but nothing else will.
I am here in Portland as well and we have FX and Fox News as well. I agree with Comcast NW needing a dedicated HD channel.
I know they show games on Mojo, but I know some of the other UO productions are filmed in HD as well. Get us more Blazer games
in HD too please, There is nothing worse than an SD basketball game on an HDTV!! I sound so spoiled!! ; )
Vs. HD (806), Golf HD (848), E! HD (834), that's all i can find in Boston
Here in Roseville, CA (in the Sacramento area), we've just got the E!, Golf, VS and along w/ 9 more channels. Can't wait for G4 (for me) & Style (for my girlfriend) to be added to this
Wasn't this posted on the site a few months ago?? I remember this.

Anyone know when the Houston area will be getting new channels?
Let's see...well, if history holds......carry the three....NEVER.
what about H-Town?! I am sick of my dad falling asleep and burning in the tv because he had to watch in SD. but really, these are some weak stations. Maybe after the digital transition they will add more. what happened to cooler stations like spike HD?
What's up with Directv? They luanched that new satellite months ago and the only hew HD i've seen is Fox News. In the past week I've seen news of G4 HD and Comedy Central HD. Directv better hop on those two channels.
Desert Cities VS HD and Golf HD. They also get E! HD. San Diego which runs Desert Cities gets VS and Golf HD separate but no E! HD. VS and Golf HD have an authorization notice that tells you you don't have this channel and call Customer Care. A few more HD chanels are expected by the end of this year in San Diego. They do mention the NBCUni HD cable channels.
