I think if Cox is going to put new HD in they should do it for the whole valley. Why should I pay the same amount as someone who gets more than I do? If anything Cox should credit people for the difference in lack of HD!
Plus it has taken forever for Cox to add HD in AZ; with the network upgrade not being complete till March of 09', it will be months before Cox can catch up. Not to mention the whole SDV debacle: when will device come out to allow SDV support beyond the Cox issued boxes?
And the brain trust at Cox Phoenix have told many of us that we will be getting the new HD channels on 2/29/09.
For the slower folks read that date again.
I have seen these channels advertised on my TiVo guide lineup for over a month. I was wondering when they were going to go live. Cox has been making channel lineup changes like crazy in phoenix, and TiVo has been letting me know when the lineup has changed, but I can't tune them. :-(
I have talked to com reprenestive few days about them taking out VS in HD. I was told that due to the recession they had to cut back on couple HD channels. I was also told that they could not afford the upgrade at this time and after the translatioin to digtal. That the upgrade would still go to through. Meaning that after the upgrade cox would add more HD channels every month and that they are now promse more than 100 HD channels to be added before the end of next year.
Back in Feb. of 2008 Cox said they would have more than 80 HD channels by the end of the year so don't hold your breath about the 100 channels by the end of 2009. I switched to Dish.
Cox Phoenix also removed MOJO - my favorite channel. I have emailed and called Cox for an explanation, no response at all. I think I will be shopping for a dish now.
I am dropping Cox, the prices and lineup are crazy. They charge me $18.00 for the HD-DVR
I am getting Dish, I will get most of the channels I have now and save about $45.00 HD-VDR from them is only $5.00
