Well lit areas also mean that the fading blacks are not seen as much. Since bright rooms are where most people have televisions at home its not that big of a deal. The better contrast due to the deeper blacks on plasma are just not very evident to most people.

The viewing angle advantage that plasma once had is all but gone.

The response rate that plasma once had is all but gone.

The price advantage at 52 inches has basically disappeared.

On top of all of that, LCD tends to have the resolution advantage and uses less power on the same size set.

Finally you have two other "issues" with plasma. I do not consider these problems but joe-6-pack does. Plasmas suffer from screen burn-in and they fade twice as fast as LCD.
