I also enjoyed MLB Extra Innings too, until Dish lost that as well. Content is king. As much as I preferred the Dish service and DVR, I must now use DirecTV.

Casey

Comments on

As a subscriber of Dish for the past 4 years, I have enjoyed their service. Awesome HD dvr, good phone service, good programming and adding channels fast (yes they lagged behind Direct but caught up). I was very disturbed by the loss of Voom when Dish cut them off. There were over a dozen channels of 24 hour a day commercial free HD content. Monsters HD showed some great films, the later Japanese Godzilla films were all shown in high def as were Planet of the Apes series and Friday the 13th and many more. That is a huge loss. Also FilmFest HD was great too, showing films like Exodus, Man of La Mancha and many more good classics in HD. In fact, most of Film Fest movies were from United Artists, which is what is shown on MGM HD, but MGM HD has not shown the top classics like Filmfest did.

Nonetheless, I stayed with Dish and am very happy. One of the major plusses of Dish is the external hard drive feature. Hook it up via USB to the DVR and I have 3 750gb hard drives full with 348 high def movies. The number of drives you can use is not limited at all. Very happy Dish customer here, but do miss Voom.

mntwister

Comments on

as a cablevision subscriber - i expect these channels to be replaced with better ones asap...

JoN

Comments on

VOOM was one of the best things for HD ever in the history.
