Verizon has been working for the last year or so putting the fiber into the ground in Troutdale. With the approval of the franchise agreement, Troutdale residents should be able to enjoy FIOS within a few weeks, according to Verizon.
I voted in favor of approving Verizon's franchise agreement because our citizens wanted it, and more competition certainly is better than more government regulation. (My opinion only, not necessarily the opinion of the rest of the city council).
