"I'm looking for a solid state drive, around 32 to 64GB, for use in my web server. The drive will contain my web sites and the operating system, either Windows Server 2008 R2 or Ubuntu. Large storage is handled by a separate RAID array, so capacity is not an issue. Rather, I am looking for the fastest, longest-lasting, and most reliable drive under $150 that is suitable to my application. Any thoughts? Thanks!"
Surge protect your stuff as it comes in from the wall, through a good surge protected multiway. Make sure aerial, satellite etc. are surge protected too if you can. If you really must, get an in-line UPS to clean the power.
This is just absurd though, unless you take to plugging your HDMI sockets into lightning rods.
The HDMI output on my reciever blew out, and sent a surge to my TV, burning out the HDMI input. Fortunately, I have 2 other HDMI input to use.
