Samsung to launch 1.5-inch thin Blu-ray player at CES
We don't have any hard details yet, but word on the street is that Samsung is planning on pairing up its 6.5mm (.2-inch) thick LCD HDTV with an equally svelte Blu-ray deck just 39mm (1.5 inches) thick. We'll find out more during Wednesday's press event, we're sure -- any bets on whether "thin BD players" will be this year's "thin displays?"

Yawn.
what a waste of development. they really should concentrate on releasing a stable blu-ray player that have no playback issues , profile 2.0 right and all the sound stuff like dts-ma right out of the box first before they try to get cute and release a fancy looking piece of garbage that probably doesnt perform half the things a blu-ray player should be able to do in the first place
How do you know all of the features you desire aren't already in this player and the design is an added bonus?
How think is Panasonic's? That's an amazing player and it is smaller then the rest. I don't really need much smaller but I won't complain if it is cheaper and has all the features it should.
The Panasonic DMP-BD35 is 1.8" thin.
Is this the new Samsung Slim BD-Player?

Looks like.
As someone who works in a retail store, I am already dreading keeping that thing clean. Glossy black stuff is purdy, but a PITA to keep clean.
