Gotta love the "mega dynamic" 1,000,000 contrast ratio that only someone like Cyclops from the X-Men can appreciate. I'm curious about one thing, though: If 120 hz produces a "soap opera effect" in most displays, what would 240 Hz give you? Ultra-smooth, octopus-like fluidity? I can't imagine this looking remotely natural unless any additional processing can be deactivated while 10:10 pulldown takes place.

Any experts out there care to elaborate?

engage

Comments on Vizio presents 240Hz, LED backlit updates to the XVT series

240hz > 120hz...

Stats game... that's all it is.

DEEZNUTZ

Comments on Vizio presents 240Hz, LED backlit updates to the XVT series

The biggest benefit to 240hz IMO is that it can do 48fps without any odd pull down, which means you can easily do 24fps movies shot in 3D, also I am told some animated films are in 48fps.
Not that this supports 3D, but that would be a reason I would want a screen that could do 240hz.

reallynotnick

Comments on Vizio presents 240Hz, LED backlit updates to the XVT series

If I had $2000 to drop on a TV, I can tell you without a doubt no matter how awesome it is, it would never be a Vizio. Any person smarter than a glass of water would spend that hard earned cash on a Sony or Samsung, not a freaking Vizio.
