Comedy Central HD launches today on Cablevision
Comedy Central HD launches today, and Cablevision iO TV subscribers will be the first to see it. According to Multichannel News we can expect 200 hours or so of native HD programming to start, including about 30 episodes of South Park, The Sarah Silverman Program, plus loads of archived stand up and films. Coming up fresh and new for your HDTV is season 13 of South Park, Reno 911, The Flaming Sward of Fire and Krod Mandoon, while The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, and The Colbert Report will get an HD upgrade at a later date. Besides nabbing the exclusive, Cablevision's trumpeting its numbers showing HD penetration is up to nearly 50 percent of iO TV subs, with 69 HD channels available. Otherwise, DirecTV and Cox will be adding later this month with more launches due later in the year -- hopefully Time Warner worked that into the latest deal with Viacom.[Via Multichannel News]

No mention of Comcast?
You're surprised? Comcrap will be the last service to get it. They mislead the public about the amount of HD (who cares about total content when more than half of it is PPV or VOD??!), and have crappy service and boxes (Comcast's UI looks like something that was slapped together 10 years ago while FIOS' looks more sleek and give you more capabilities!).
Comcast (at least in my area) has had 9 or 10 HD South Park episodes available for free onDemand for the past month and a half. They look very good. I didn't know that Comedy Central had an HD station
Just to make sure, Directv will be launching Comedy Central HD later this month is what that sentence was saying?
Any date on Directv? That's the only SD channel I have in my favorites.
Directv will launch Comedy Central Hi Def later this month.
All i can say is sweeeeeeeeeeettttttttttttttttttttt.
Oh how i wish the Canadian market was even the slightest big competitive, and we got sweet HD channels... all we have is crap like Discovery HD.
anyone have this working yet? what channel is it on cablevision?
Cablevision does have it but at a 4:1 mux. How dare they do that. I guess thats a new low. Not even comcast would do this. 3:1 on most HD channels.
No Verizon either? Lame.
I have DirecTV, and I've had Comedy Central HD for the past week or so (channel 249). Maybe a test in my market? I'm in West Palm Beach, FL.
What about Dish Network?
