Future Arcam Blu-ray player spotted at CES

Arcam may not be at the top of your list of must-have brands, but it's about to join the flourishing Blu-ray player market in the near future, regardless. Sadly, the only details about the deck you see above -- which was seen sporting a high-end-signifying FMJ-xxx logo at CES -- are that it's likely to be staggeringly expensive and it should ship next month. 'Til then, it looks like you'll be testing your patience.

I don't see how high-end companies like Arcam can compete with Oppo Digital who give such good performance for the money. How can one justify spending an extra $5000 or more for a thick aluminum front panel and maybe a tiny increase in performance if it even is better. Oppo has a reputation now and will be out with Bluray before a lot of other high end brands so everything will be compared to Oppo.
