Panasonic's pricey TH-65VX100E plasma reviewed, swooned over
When something costs eight thousand pounds, it simply cannot be even a hair less than phenomenal. According to a recent review of the incredibly expensive TH-65VX100E, Panasonic somehow managed to create a plasma worth that asking price. The 65-inch, 1080p set -- which was introduced across the pond late last year -- displayed "the best picture quality" critics had ever seen on a flat-panel. It also boasted "reams of features and exceptionally flexible settings." In fact, the only negative listed was that it costs more than a Renault Megane, which is pretty darn valid if you ask us. For those with the cash to spare and a hankering for big screen PDP action, it seems like this one just made the short list.

"...displayed "the best picture quality" critics had ever seen on a flat-panel..."
Wow, even besting a KURO eh? Panny VIERA or Pioneer KURO FTW.
I once saw a guy make a comment on an engadgetHD article in response to someone questioning the price point of a rather expensive Samsung that went something like this "This is a Samsung you moron, not a cheap brand like Vizio or Panasonic". I literally laughed at loud when I read that. He got half of it right. To put it in car terms it's as if he said something like this "This is a Chevy you moron, not a cheap brand like Kia or Porsche". Huh?
I'm sure glad I didn't see that comment because that is just ridiculous. I'm pretty sure Samsungs are pretty good, but they're not on the Panasonic level. What was that guy smoking?
I wish I owned a company....then I could run it into the ground, secure a bailout and then buy one of these.
Encouraging to see their quality get even better, considering they will be supplying panels for the next gen KURO as far as I understand...
Exactly my thoughts. While I LOVE the VIERA line (I have one), I was still a little worried to see that Panasonic was going to be producing the KURO panels as the KUROS are THE DEFINITION of what a TV should be. Nice to know Panasonic is actually closing the gap between themselves and Pioneer. Soon instead of Pioneer being #1 and Panasonic being #2, Panny will just be #1. Samsung who? :)
KURO this summer....?? ....

I'm not sure there is a big market for this set at any price. Very very heavy. I wish I had one though.

I never understood the heavy argument. Once it is in place on the stand or the wall, who cares how heavy it is? It only takes 2 average people to put on a stand, 3 to wall mount (to be safe). Mounting to the studs is more than enough to hold it on a wall. Furniture for this size TV generally can hold the weight too.
I have 2 50" Plasmas one mounted and one on a stand. Haven't moved either one since installation was completed.
I will admit that demand for this size has seemingly diminished, atleast in my market. We used to sell a bunch of 60" Elites and 65" PZ850's and now demand has shifted toward 55" and lower. The large DLP's are making a comeback as of late, especially since Mitsubishi dropped the replacement bulb cost to $99 factory direct!!! (Most Samsung DLP's are now LED based)
Just my slice of personal experience
in that case it'd be "you can always hit IT with HIM" :P
