Netflix breaks the 10 million subscriber mark, keeps on truckin'
We can't say the economic crisis has been too kind to every industry, but it's been a best friend to Netflix. As consumers divert their out-on-the-town dollars to sit-on-my-arse-and-watch-Netflix dollars, the by-mail and streaming movie rental company is just breaking records left and right. After closing a stellar 2008 with 9.4 million customers, the company has today announced that the 10 million mark has been crossed. For those struggling with basic math, that means that it has added 600,000 net subscribers since January 1st. So, where does Netflix go from here? Into every nook and cranny it can, of course, so don't be shocked to see Watch Instantly creep onto your next HDTV, set-top-box, Blu-ray player or portable microwave. Seriously, it could happen.

Many folks are dropping costly cable TV subscriptions and replacing it with a Netflix sub for less than $20.
We drooped down to basic cable plus internet from Comcast and have the 3 at at time unlimited, We save nearly 30 a month and get what we want when we want it.

I wonder if that person, the 10,000,000th, gets anything? Like a lifetime subscription or something.
Try fixing the "Long Wait" Problems!
"Try fixing the "Long Wait" Problems!"
They have that? I have 156 items in my queue and they all list as "available now".
Netflix seems to be processing discs on Saturday now. Big improvement.
heres how to solve the Long Wait problems.... stop trying to watch new releases like everyone else !!
This is becoming more of a problem obviously as Netflix gets more subscribers. I never had this problem before but then again I'm also not one to watch new releases. I've been a subscriber since 2004 and even if it said 'long wait' I'd usually get the disc right away. Its also about timing and luck. Netflix can't send you a copy unless they have one to send to you and at that same time you'd have to have a disc coming back in or else it goes to someone else.
Heres what I do, leave 'em at the top of your queue. I have 150+ movies plus tv shows. If you didn't rush out to watch it in theaters I don't see what the rush is now that its on dvd/blu-ray. Plus, it'll give you time to check out tons of great movies or shows you've passed up or never heard of. Its not always about the "latest and greatest." Check out your recommendations or just search around for good movies, find people with similar taste. If you haven't, add a profile and join the community.
