Samsung's OmniaHD: world's first phone to capture 720p video?
We've no way to confirm at the moment, but if SamsungCentral is to be believed, Samsung's newly announced OmniaHD will soon become the world's first cellphone to record 720p video. Unlike the HTC Touch HD -- which had precisely zero high-def amenities -- it seems the next breed of Omnia may actually live up to its moniker. Other purported specifications include an 8 megapixel camera and a 3.7-inch AMOLED display, though the resolution of the panel is currently unknown. Have we mentioned we can't wait to get our paws around this? Because we can't.

I was just about to buy a samsung omni from verizon but I guess I should wait. Anyone know how long???
Don't wait.
The Omnia i910 is the best smartphone on the market today , and I tell you having here beside me a HTC touch HD to compare it to (my work phone).
Moreover the new Omnia HD will be running S60 instead of Win Mobile (which you'll be able to upgrade to 6.5 when it will come out) and it is lacking the absolutely genial mouse/mini-mousepad that makes it the only touch phone where you will never ever feel the need to use a stylus.
The touch wz UI performed the miracle of making Win mobile nice to look at and fun to use, and being much lighter han HTC's touchFLO the phone is much speedier and responsive than the HTC touch HD or touch Pro.
This coming spring the upgrades to Touch wiz will make it unnecessary even to upgrade to win mob 6.5.
If then you'lldecide that you want to migrate to S60 and to streaming HD videos to your TV than you'll surely find plenty of people ready to buy your first gen Omnia.
Personally I don't care much for the new HD from what I have seen until now (not enough to make me ditch my win Mob Omnia to get a S60 Omnia without mouse, anyway). I will sell it only when I'll be able to buy the new Samsung Show with integrated projector, TV tuner and FM sender .
Imagine that: beaming wireless music to any radio receiver or car stereo, and 50 inches videos and Tv on any surface, in case you get bored of the Amoled screen and tween stereo speakers.
Yay, that's what I want, and Sammy promised it in a store near me before the summer.
