in november comcast is going to announce their goal to have docsis 3.0 in 40% of their footprint by summer 2010. in spring comcast will announce their goal to have docsis 3.0 in....
That is sweet as long as they dont try and charge us crazy prices... if I read it right my 6 down 1 up will be 12 down and 2 up. that would rock if it was not more expensive but i bet they will try and up the prices.
probably just trying to keep people from going to fios... i will if i ever get the chance simply because comcasts customer care is non existent.
In my area where it's already deployed the 6/1 got upgraded to 12/2 at no additional cost. I do think it's silly that their top of the line package still hast the 250gb transfer limit. I also have to say I seem to be getting my 12mbs advertised and a whole lot more. 2 different speed tests put my download at over 20mbs and my upload at over 4mbs.
Yep all that speed to get you to your cap even faster!
And I think the price for the highest 50Mbps speed is $150/month?

22mbit/5mbit @ $62.95/month sounds nice to me... Right now I have 18mbit/1.5mbit @ $65 w/ att. Having a slingbox, I definitely could make good use of 5mbit upload!
My only issue is it says residential prices require Comcast Cable service, which sux ass, nm their horrible DVR's. I have Directv and would like to keep it so I hope they will not jack up the price for non cable customers.
In the Fort Wayne area, you can get the same price for Internet if you bundle it with either Comcast cable or Comcast Digital Voice home phone (which is available in local-only and nationwide unlimited flavors), so you can still use DirecTV satellite and get Comcast internet and Digital Voice phone for that price.
Not sure about your area... but it doesn't hurt to check the Comcast website.

Comcast has been claiming that they've doubled speed here this last week. I'm not impressed.
22/5 for 63 a month is criminal. I was getting 20/20 for about 80 from Verizon and the latency was significantly better. Some of that might be network topology, but I have my doubts about Comcast ever being able to get to stable honest high speed network speeds instead of artificially boosted ones for ten megabyte files.
