After my "experience" with Dish Customer Service (DOA unit), I decided to look elsewhere. I'm better off. I bought two Hauppauge dual channel tuners for my PC. One is connected to analog cable, and the other to an antenna for O.T.A. ATSC (including local hi-def channels). I'm running Windows 7 beta and Media Center. It wasn't a painless install, and there are still a few bugs (widely reported), but the stability, and the functionality (esp. MC), is better than I was hoping for. With one 360 extender, and after a little hassle setting up network sharing (still not as easy as it should be), I've finally realized the whole home DVR. Three rooms, so far. Already, there are several interesting add-ons for MC, including ones that add logos to the on-screen guide, and add cover art (and a synopsis) to the DVDs in your Movie Library. As long as the retail version retains most of the functionality, I'll be one of the first to buy. P.S. No affiliation with either company mentioned.
“An engineer explained to us that hundreds of ear impressions were gathered in the name of research, and while each one obviously boasted its own unique shape and size, one single characteristic remained uniform across the board: the entrance into the ear canal is not a perfect circle, it's an oval.”
