FSN Northwest, Pittsburgh & Rocky Mountain networks switch to full time HD
The three regional sports networks joined under Liberty Media have switched to full time HD, promising more than 900 events per year. FSN Northwest, FSN Rocky Mountain and FSN Pittsburgh were part of the recently completed DirecTV swap and still have a syndication relationship with the also all-HD-in-'09 Fox Sports Network. Whether or not you understand the ownership of the various FSN nets, Mariners, Pirates, Jazz and other fans can be satisfied they'll be enjoying all their games in high definition, once the HD feeds are picked up by their local cable / satellite provider of course.

Now we can watch the Penguins flounder more clearly than before!
Now what are the odds of Comcast actually picking up FSN-RM here in Colorado. It sure would be nice to get all the Rockies games in HD.
Good news, I hope...
For those of you who don't know, FSN-Utah (a subsidiary to FSN-RM) usually shows whatever is on FSN-Rocky Mountain. They override that original broadcast in the event of a Jazz game, or whatever, but 95% of their programming is the same. That is great about FSN-RM, but FSN-Utah will probably still not show all Jazz games in HD...
Now Comcast is Salt Lake had better add another HD channel to their lineup. I hate having to check channel 6 in case they decide to show the game there.
Too bad none of the actual programming is in HD on FSN NW.
I hope this gets extended to other FSN affiliates. Here the FSN HD channel only has content when they have a game to show in HD, the rest of the time (i.e. most of the time) it just shows a test pattern. When I want to watch or record a game on FSN, I have to go check the HD channel first, and if the game is not there, then switch to the SD channel. The guide info provided by Comcast doesn't accurately list what is on the HD channel either, so there's not a good way to know in advance. This is a pain. Even if the content is SD, they simulcast it on the HD channel so we can know in advance which channel we need to view or record.
I dont understand why FSN is not showing the tennis match on Indian Wells, it was scheduled to be aired LIVE on FSN, not right, its a very big tournament
