At first glance this week's releases were pretty weak, but then we noticed that Disney's latest animated feature was scheduled to release before next Tuesday so we threw it in to make things more interesting. Sure it isn't the greatest movie ever, but compared to the rest of the offerings, it's looking pretty good. There are a few other titles worth a look though, but nothing that really jumps out at us. One catalog title that was special to us as kids is
The Princess Bride. Next week on the other hand is all Bond, all the time. First the latest in the series is leading the pack, and then there are a handful of the classics keeping it company.
Hmm... the new Punisher would be cool on BD. I didn't care for the Matador though.
You know, I can't tell if Ben is joking or not!
Quo Vadis and The Robe are two astounding classics. Absolutely great movies... and two Warner is using to test the waters on whether people want classics on Blu-ray.
And of course Princess Bride is... Princess Bride!! (Don't forget, the DVD was one of those super anticipated films, that ended up being a double dip because the original lacked special features.)
Bolt is the only good new movie in the list, though Twilight should have been on there (Saturday is *this* week after all!).
But still, with three absolute knock down, drag out classic movies... to call this week weak (!!) is either a joke, or Ben getting up on the wrong side of knowing a good movie if it bit him on the nose!

You forgot about the special early release of Twilight on Saturday, not like it's a good movie but it will sell big.
I'm suprised how fast the turnaround on some of these movies is. I never saw it, but it seems like Bolt was just in theaters not that long ago. Punisher, which I did see, does not really suprise me though. It was lucky to even get a real release imo.
Yeah, it seems like just yesterday that the really good releases -- Quo Vadis, The Robe and Princess Bride -- were in theaters!
:p

I wish Bolt would be a bigger release, the move was great. The hamster (Rhino) in that movie was one of the funniest characters I've ever seen. I can't wait for Mark Walton to do more stuff.
I actually thought that Bolt was a pretty terrible movie. By looking at the previews I thought the hamster would be a lot funnier than he was and was let down. I saw the 3D version of it and also thought the 3D added absolutely nothing to the movie.
Disappointing all around.
Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die.
These releases are INCONCEIVABLE!
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
Have fun storming the Blu-Ray Isle.
Uh, doesnt Bolt get released next Tuesday
The Blu-Ray version comes out on Sunday, two days before the DVD release - I think.
Unless I missed something... I too thought Bolt was being released March 22nd for Blu-ray
Bolt comes out on Sunday on Blu-ray, Tuesday for DVD.

Not according to Disney's website: http://disneydvd.disney.go.com/search.html?q=Bolt&rows=10&start=0&sort=closest
March 22nd for Blu-ray and March 24th for DVD
I thought Elegy was being released on Blu-ray on tomorrow?
Record it ALL on your PC in HD! "Hauppauge HD PVR"...
Where have the weekly ratings for % BD sold been at? and turn back on comments...we can ignore the rants
just go to home media magazine's website and have a look for yourself.
Judging from the number of comments I've seen per post, EngagetHD needs some flame bait to keep things rolling.
3mth into the year & with sales even on the Nielson numbers still bumping along @ the $10 million per week level it just gets harder and harder for EngadgetHD to cheerlead the delusion that a new Blu-ray dawn is breaking.
It's no surprise the numbers have been MIA in the last few weeks.
I feel like a Bangkok whore on a Sunday after the Navy leaves.
