"I just moved into a new apartment and have been reading about all of the new power strips out there, especially the green ones. I was wondering if you had any suggestions about which "green "power strips are out there with decent joules ratings. And when I say green, I mean power strips that have the remotes or switches to turn off all electricity flowing to certain plugs and with at least 2 plugs that are always on. I was looking specifically at sub $50 because I will need two, but if that is not possible I could be convinced otherwise. Thanks!"
That format is archived already? ;)
I wonder how many more new releases will bundle the DVD in with the BR disc, which would definitely help with those consumers that think DVD players are forward compatible.
Can anyone refresh my memory as to whether or not the blu ray media could handle a DVD burn on the backside of the disc?
Kumar, take a look at this engadget post: http://www.engadget.com/2008/12/19/first-blu-ray-disc-dvd-hybrid-announced-in-japan/
Blu-ray layers are not at the same depth as DVD layers so its quite possible to have both on the SAME side. Indeed, such technology has been touted since 2005. Whether it is economically justifiable is a completely different matter entirely and in most cases the answer is no.
For Libraries, buying a box that has both a Blu-ray and DVD version in it is probably not seen as a downside either, as they'll get another copy of the DVD for checking out as well as the newer Blu-ray format.
