However, this device has several problems. First and foremost, you cannot calibrate its greyscale to 65K IRE because it lacks the proper service modes. So while it produces deadly colors, it's not producing *accurate* colors.

Second, it's not HD. It's 960x540p. That's EDTV... basically just a bit better than Standard Definition. (The bozo at the Sony Style Store tried to tell me it "approximates 1080p," which didn't go over well with me, and almost got me kicked out of the store.)

However, as a *proof of concept*, it succeeds marvelously. Great color reproduction -- it obviously can do the colors, it just just needs service mode calibration to do them accurately -- and awesome black level.
