Number of folks unready for DTV transition falls to 4 million
Just days ago, we heard that the DTV voucher waitlist was completely gone, and now that those have started to flow again, the amount of Americans still unready for the switchover sits at 4.1 million. Compared to right around two months ago, that's definitely a marked improvement from 6.5 million still in the dark, and we fully anticipate that number to continually shrink as we inch closer to June 12th. Of course, there's going to come a time when the figure simply won't fall any lower, as a sliver of those still not ready will, frankly, remain that way. More power to 'em we say -- just keep the booze and bullets locked up and everything will be okay.

With millions of Americans without health insurance and losing their jobs, our government places priority on people being able to watch Springer and The Price is Right? Damn.
No. Our government believes that people receiving their local news and emergency broadcasts is important. Our government also believes it is possible to walk and chew gum at the same time, which you apparently do not.
That's Mr. Mayor of Cincinnati, Ohio... to you.
Sure, if the people who watch springer didn't have TV's obama would never have gotten elected.
I'm pretty sure rednecks aren't fans of black people, and since Palin's life resembles the Springer show their obvious choice was McCain. Commenting fail, you're filled to the brim with it.
Hehe, like shooting fish in a barrel baiting you people.
By the way, lots of rednecks like black people.
And you guys were complaining about the delay saying it wouldn't change anything look whos got their feet in their mouths now
No, people were saying that delaying wouldn't help get more people connected to DTV. They were saying that there was nothing added to the plan to help people get connected, no changes besides just delaying the date of the switch.
The real reason you see less people unready for the DTV transition is mainly because many tv stations have already made the switch and shut off their analog signal. So people started losing some (but not all) of their channels. This forced them to either stop procrastinating buying a converter box, or got them to ask somebody why they couldn't get those channels anymore.
If the delay didn't allow tv stations to make the switch ahead of schedule, you wouldn't see the big drop in the "unready" numbers.
So, after one month, the number to that still needs to switch has only dropped just over 33%? If the rate stays stagnat, there will still be at least 1.63 million people that still won't be ready for the transition in June. But given the behavior of these people, the rate is likely to fall. In my opinion, even the unlikely prediction of 75% of the stragglers wasn't worth the delay, especially seems how the real number is likely to be 50% of the 6.5 million still won't be ready.
So you mean to tell me that there's only 4 million dumbasses left in this country? Come on now. Not possible.
FreeTvSignal has great news on how we can help the Latin/Hispanic markets throughout the USA, including South Florida, the Gulf Coast, and Puerto Rico, work through what will become the DTV Transition on June 12th, 2009. We're looking to offer our services and help facilitate the people of our country who have their DTV Converter Box NTIA government coupons because we are a nation wide supplier of “No cost DTV Converter Boxes”.
