The economy is down and plenty of people are alright with buying LCD's... Though, I am surprised he said it would be 5 years before we see OLED's on the market. Mature the technology, produce large screens, and make it cheap.<br><br>Look at the Sony XEL-1. With resepcts to production cost, everything that I've read over the years say that OLED production is easier and MUCH cheaper to produce than your trditional LCD TV so I dont' think production costs are really the case.  Samsungs new Luxia LCD's are expensive but because they are extrememly thin many will buy them and I think they are banking on it.
