We are still stuck with 25 basic HD channels and haven't gotten a new one in almost two years. They actually had the nerve to send an advertisement in the mail with a basketball on it declaring themselves the "#1 Seed in HD." They wouldn't even make the NIT.

Matt

Comments on HD channel expansion roundup

Crapcast is delusional, they always have been. They make wild claims about being number 1 for HD choices, etc. etc. blah blah blah. They claim that they're only the second station to go entirely HD including shooting in the field, and that doesn't sound right to me. I know for a fact that Chicago's CBS shoot on Sony's XD Cam and they just opened up a new studio in the winter that is obviously all HD (weather, ALL sports, etc.) so was WBBM the first station in the country to go all HD? I think not and I think they're WAY off on making that claim.

Anyone else agree of have some other facts?

-Brian

Brian Kaempen

Comments on HD channel expansion roundup

Most stations don't shoot HD in the field, probably due to expenses and lack of justification right now. It still does bother me watching SD material on an HD feed, but companies sooner or later are going to have to make the leap in investing in HD equipment for ALL of their production work.

I already refuse to watch SD only channels. It's only a matter of time until that happens with most people, and channels that aren't HD will be screwed in viewership.

dagamer34
