"I just moved into a new apartment and have been reading about all of the new power strips out there, especially the green ones. I was wondering if you had any suggestions about which "green "power strips are out there with decent joules ratings. And when I say green, I mean power strips that have the remotes or switches to turn off all electricity flowing to certain plugs and with at least 2 plugs that are always on. I was looking specifically at sub $50 because I will need two, but if that is not possible I could be convinced otherwise. Thanks!"
It's very early in the morning. So, do I still need to purchase PlayOn to use this? It sounds like it allows you to stream to Windows Media Center extenders other than the 360. I was hoping this PlayIt would do what PlayOn does. But, free. Wishful thinking on my part.
Unfortunately you need playon first. There are other MCE plugins in development that will do what playon does for no charge, but they aren't available yet.
MediaMall, being first to market, has chosen to gouge their customers by pricing a streaming bridge software in the same ballpark as much more complex and capable programs.
Here is hoping the upcoming competition gets Mediamall to lower the price of PlayOn to a more reasonable level if it accomplishes nothing else.
