TBS-HD gives the stretching a little break
A few sightings of non-stretched 4x3 content has finally showed up on TBS HD today, but the bad news is that so far it has only been during commercials. We can only hope that this is a prelude to no more stretch-o-vision on TBS-HD, but given the track record of TNT and TBS, we aren't holding our breath. As you can see, when it comes to stretching content, we don't see eye to eye with our Time Warner siblings.

I belive this must be because advertisers were complaining that their products looked fat....
ESPN has had the right idea for some time now. I wish all HD stations would follow their lead.
OMG, my house was just overflown by a pig!
Just seems lazy on the part of the network, looks absolutely horrible sometimes.
Honestly with so many more HD channels online now I can't remember the last time I watched anything on TBS.
Maybe the baseball playoffs? But those are true HD, so..
As of a few months ago, they've been showing Seinfeld episodes that have been remastered to HD quality. It's very nice.
I wish that TBSHD and TNTHD would focus on fixing their audio rather than focusing on not stretching commercials. 1/2 of the movies on those 2 channels are unwatchable because the audio lags 1-2 seconds behind the video. It is totally unacceptable. NO other stations have that problem.
stretch or no stretch, TBS is a junk filled viewing experience anyway. HD is wasted on them.
Why bother showing something in the highest picture quality when they are just going to cover it in snipe crap? Waste of pixels.
Now can everyone else follow their lead please?!
I'm looking at YOU History HD and Food Network HD!
