Blu-ray releases on April 7th 2009
Although we didn't go back and count every week, we're pretty sure Warner broke its own record this week by releasing 15 titles. At the top of the list is the latest Jim Carry movie Yes Man, but there also more than a few classics like American History X, 2010, The Wedding Singer and Point of No Return. Fox has a pretty big title this week as well with The Day the Earth Stood Still, although if you believe in IMDB scores you'll skip it. Disney also has a few worthwhile titles like the latest Adam Sandler movie Bedtime Stores. What is also pretty big news this week though, is that Discovery opened up the vaults and released six new documentaries, which are a welcomed addition to Blu-ray's lineup.- Yes Man (Warner)

2010 is pretty cheap on Amazon. I might replace my DVD if there are good reviews.
DVD Beaver has blu-ray screen shots and he said its a good bare bones disc with much improved picture quality (which wouldn't be all that hard to do since the DVD was an old low-res letterboxed version). The site layout is a horrible mess but the screen captures are really helpful.

And 13.99 for brand new BD release is really good price.

Come on, did Tango & Cash really need to be released on Blu-Ray? I did like 2010, 2001 though I just didn't get all that much. 2010 was much better.
I think the notable ones should be No COuntry For Old Men as wasn't that a big HD DVD seller and obviously long time Blu holdout? and 2010, I sure hope that looks gorgeous in HD. Bedtime Stories and The Day The Earth Stood Still I see as only being good due to their vast amounts of CG, not the story.

No Country For Old Men was previously released on Blu-ray. Today's release is just a collections edition double-dip (2 disc + a Digital Copy).
WHAT?!?! Thanks for the heads up on Bricktown, Ben. I didn't even know this movie existed! Shot in and takes place in my hometown of Brick, NJ. Very cool.
The day the earth stood still was for scifi geeks only. It was like a two hour episode of the Outer Limits. So I loved it.
I'll be getting that and American History X. I may rent the 2010 Bluray as I've never seen it.
