What is the point of South Park in HD? Do you really need ot see the texture of the construction paper they cut the characters out of?
Agree, since most show are either streatch out or remain same 4:3 format in hd channel, that is not HD! but aleast it looks light better than those in sd channel, but consider cost 10 bucks more for hd channel for most provinder, we should get our money worth, and for god sake make all show 5.1 sound, some channel like history HD still show 2.0........
South park hasn't been animated using paper since the pilot. But in general the main benefit of cartoons in HD is simply the noise level is not there. When watching in SD you get a lot of minor snow on everything, but in HD with that gone it makes everything look much more colorful.
Guess what Phil? The point of South Park in HD is the same as the point of having anything else in HD. It makes it look and sound better! Just like Eric said, the noise is reduced.
I know its shocking but that's why some gaming systems are in high definition, tv shows, computer games(for years and years), it sounds and looks better!
I don't want to shock you with this kind of a huge revelation but yes, that's why. People are even willing to pay more for these spangled new hdtvs, hd movies, hdtv boxes and hd-channels. Weird, huh? I thought coming to a website like EngadgetHD this would be common knowledge to you, but, I guess not.
Well congrats Wes, you're a jerk!
I was trying to make a joke about the self-proclaimed 'craptastic' animation, not question the need for HD anything.
Go crawl back under your bridge, troll.
