DirecTV's ScoreGuide tool makes catching the quickest boxing matches even easier
DirecTV subs may not notice the company has been spun off, but they might have peeped the new ScoreGuide, letting sports fans watch one channel while keeping scores and start times of live events posted on screen, then letting viewers switch to the appropriate channel easily. Accessed by tuning into any one of DirecTV's sports channels then punching the red button on your remote, it can collapse to show just one game or stay open to show all daily events. Want to avoid clicking over only to find the boxing match is already over two rounds in or you missed a great Kentucky Derby comeback, or yet another triple overtime thriller? We can see how this could be useful.

It's a great little feature they added, but I believe it's only on the sports channels. So non sports channels that have games on them (like locals, TNT, TBS, etc.) don't give the ScoreGuide tool as an option. I wish it was on every channel for easy access, not just the sports channels. But still, a pretty cool feature they added.
The SCOREGUIDE will come up on any sports channel, and it will tune TO a game on TBS, TNT, etc. just fine if the game is on a "non sports" channel.
Agrees with Zach. It's only on sports channels, so that's some what of a disappointment. I guess I need to play with it for a while, because I haven't seen all of the options discussed on in the article.
I am really using this feature a lot. Read about it a week ago on Directv's Twitter page. Perfect for keeping track of the baseball scores while watching playoff hockey.
Love it! Keep up the good work DirecTV!
Noticed it during the NBA playoffs over the weekend. Not a bad little feature. Just wish the other channels were feeding scores (TNT, TBS).
The feature is fine; but really ugly. The look-and-feel should be similar format as their on-screen Guide and it would be good; now it's just average at best.
I personally think its a great tool. At first I wasn't sure if it was just a gadget but I find myself clicking the little red button more and more.
Worked fine for me all week on TNT (NBA) and TBS (baseball) so I would try again (or maybe you were looking when there wasn't a game on those channels after all).
The problem with Scoreguide is that it blocks Closed Caption. I have not been able to turn OFF Scoreguide so that I can see the Closed Captions being transmited. I HATE IT!
