Is TiVo planning a Flash upgrade?
Put this on our watchlist for the 2010 CES (or earlier, we're not picky) TiVoBlog.com recently pointed out a twitter indicating TiVo is looking for a Flash expert to work on embedded applications -- like the ones that could bring Adobe's widgets to its DVR hardware. Assuming the Series4 (or whatever it ends up being called) uses processors from Broadcom or Sigma, Flash platform support should come included, let's just hope this is a part of an overall UI refresh and not a resource hogging add-on slapped over the same old SD interface.

Looks like Tivo might finally be digesting some suggestions made over on the Tivocommunity forum..... This is something they should have jumped on a few years back!!

This would allow TiVo to access sites like Hulu. This would allow users the option of watching free shows with commercials or renting commercial free from Amazon or NetFlix.
FINALLY
I hope this is not be limited to the Series 4 as us Series 3 users would love this. Well, I would love it on my series 2, but I guess that's out of the question.
The older TivoHD/Series3 hardware does not support Flash. But the Broadcom BCM7400 and BCM7405 DVR SoCs are both shipping today with native support for Flash Lite v3. The next-generation BCM7410 and BCM7420 SoCs (1500 DMIPS) will also support Flash Lite when they become available, with even greater levels of performance.

Since all upcoming Broadcom DVR SoCs (as well as Sigma STB SoCs) are expected to natively support Flash Lite, it represents a excellent solution for a future, cross-platform UI platform that can be authored once and then run on different DVRs and extenders.

Ohh man, I hope they finally do this.
Why do I have the feeling this will end up just being another way to push ads at us? :(
TIVO should FIRST work on their 3-5 seconds imtermittent audio cut out problem. IMHO.
Just gonna end up being an AD delivery thingy overtop the GUI. Mark my words.. Tivo doesn't work on anything except ad delivery methods these days,
