Bang & Olufsen's BeoVision 4 103-inch plasma on sale in USA: $93,050
So, there are two ways to look at this: the first is that this television set costs almost as much as many homes, while the second is that it's around $40,000 cheaper than the Euro-conversion price. Specially designed for plutocrats who need to brag that Mark Cuban has the bargain version of their HDTV, Bang & Olufsen's 103-inch BeoVision 4-103 plasma brings along a 1080p panel and plenty of wow. The unit has just been let loose here in America, going on a US press tour and becoming available for special order for those with loads of disposable income. It can be purchased in an array of color options including black, silver, red, blue, and dark grey, though there is a three to four month lead time for each set. The pain? $93,050 on wall mount, $111,805 on motorized floor stand -- though we hear that it's hand delivered by Dos Equis himself.

Panasonic now sells the 103" For under $40,000 and yet the Runco version is still $100,000.
The B&O looks like a bargan next to Sam's product.
Except that Sam Runco has a history of enhancing the performance of plasma displays, while the same can't be said for Band & Olufsen.
I don't have a problem with the existence of High End products. I'm just curious how Runco or B&O can make money off of these products, unless they are making them to order. If they stock units ready to ship, they have to be loosing money on dead inventory.
The US has lots of millionaires. Just look at the collection of pro-athletes and related jobs in that career field (coaches, owners, etc) as a start. This is pocket change.
....but how much is the stand and those nifty little matching speakers????
and by the way...Real power would not be bragging rights over Mark Cuban. Real power would be placing one of these units in each of your kids bedrooms connected to their PS3's and XBOX360's.
I think bragging rights really kick in when you drop $100,000 on a 103"plasma and then use it to play Wii Fit ;)
My father owns one of their lower end products and I can say that each pair of those speakers cost $20,000. Those speakers on the side are considered the best production speakers on the planet (or at least the most expensive, I can't imagine another production speaker pushing out 2500 watt per speaker). I know for a fact that their loudspeakers are worth every penny if you have the cash to but them, but their plasmas video quality is equivalent to an Elite plasma, at 103 inches I am willing to bet that Panny made shitty plasma, versus B&O who I am sure would not sacrifice quality, but would rather sacrifice price(which is what happened). And the way these companies are able to charge so much more is that their product are better, maybe marginally, but still better. On top of that they offer great customer service and support years after their first purchase, and give freebies to their customers if they haven't seen them for a while ( I was given a $100 headphones for stopping by to see their new loudspeakers),
Just what I never knew I didn't need
