Thanks for the enlightening article. I'm trying to understand what I can about QAM and the transition to ATSC. According to the everything I read leading up to the transition, as long as the monitor in question had an ATSC tuner, everything should be fine, but that isn't the case with the Comcast service we have.
Three TVs in our house have ATSC tuners, but are only able to tune QAM channels. Without support for manual remapping, trying to find the channel you want, when the carrier is constantly updating frequencies is frustrating to say the least.
So even though according to the "experts" and the government we should be fine since these sets have ATSC, the reality is that it's nearly impossible to watch TV like this.
We have base digital TV service and high speed internet. Is the only solution to get a STB or DTV converter for each TV?
