All I can say about this announcement is; the deployment has been a complete disaster. Shaw is running more than double the bandwidth over old equipment, old cable and cable that is designed to max out at 550 Mhz but is now running at 800 Mhz. Shaw HD users are not able to record TV shows because of the digital drop outs that happen multiple times an hour. Watching without recording makes no difference but, those that have systems set to record are just wasting their money. Same goes for Pay Per View. Then there is the trouble with content duplication. While increasing their prices and decreasing their programming Shaw continues to make millions without any rate controls, customer service metrics, or requirement to give back to the communities they operate in. In short Shaw does what Shaw wants. It is the Shaw way or the highway.

Mike Hanson
