Warner uses Facebook to sync up Watchmen BD-Live viewing sessions
In July, BD-Live is going beyond the players when Warner Bros. includes a Facebook tie-in on the Watchmen: Director's Cut Blu-ray release. Probably not enough to turn around BD-Live's rep with this crowd, but others may be surprised to find community screening invites wedged between their Mafia Wars invites and status updates. Also exclusive to the Blu-ray is "Maximum Movie Mode" for a split screen view of the action and video commentary from director Zach Snyder, plus Watchmen: Focus Points, Real Super Heroes, Real Vigilantes and Mechanics: Technologies of a Fantastic World extras. Due either July 21, The Hollywood Reporter says we can expect the theatrical version on VOD, Xbox and PlayStation movie stores, while iTunes and Amazon will deliver the Director's Cut without the disc.Read - Watchmen Gets Heroic on DVD and Blu-ray on July 21st

Isn't the director Zach Snyder?
I have criticised BD for not coming out the gate with the finalised spec. However, I am starting to wonder if it actually wasn't a bad thing with BD-Live...
Anyone planning on being part of this keep in mind that the directors cut of the film is over three hours long. So stock up on Red Bull and Sour Patch Kids before hand.
yeah, but i don't know if any of this will actually make this movie any better. The Watchmen is pretty mediocre of a film.
Wonder if this is any hint towards a PS3 and Facebook tie in?
Is this THE Director's cut with everything out back in with properly inserted Black Freighter segments or do I have to continue waiting for Ultimate Director's Cut?
@ Johnny Neat,
The word is that you have to wait until the Ultimate Cut before "Black Freighter" and "Under the Hood" is blended in.
I'm more interested in seeing the Director's Cut that IMO should have been the Theatrical release. What I saw in March lacked the emotional weight of the supporting characters (the lesbian cabbie, newspaper stand guys, the prison psychiatrist, etc.) that was sorely missed and made film feel patched together with the sole intent of maximizing how many times the film could be shown in a given day at a multiplex.
