LG puts its HB954TBW Blu-ray HTIB into Korean streets
Only last month we saw a positive review of LG's HB354BS HTIB, and the company obviously feels it's on to something good with these HTIB systems, because it has now introduced the similar HB954TBW to its homeland Korean market. This system notches up the channel count to 5.1 (as opposed to the 2.1-channel HB354BS), but still hangs on to the Mark Levinson name-drop, Blu-ray heart and retractable iPod dock that to our eyes looks like a sleek accident waiting to happen. Gather up your won, this one lists out at ₩1,299,000 ($1,030).

If BR movies can do 7.1 then why do they keep making 5.1 systems for it?
Because is harder and cost more $ to make it 7.1 Actually many new asian release blu-ray is support 7.1, some even goes for 7.1 pcm, 7.1 dts master, 7.1 dolby ! U.S. is behind in 7.1 market, right now only 5% blu-ray are 7.1 but i think lion gate and disney is plan to increase their title to more 7.1
Spendy for sure but the thing I like about this HTiB is that it offers 2 HDMI inputs. Let's face it if you've got even one more HDMI device many of these integreated HTiB don't handle such a system well. You may have a cable box or a HD Tivo or any other the other HDMI based devices that you want to switch to.
I'm awaiting the reviews on this to see if it's more than gloss and the Levinson name.
At that price, you are starting to get into separate amplifiers and speakers that sound superior to any of Samsung's 10%-harmonic-distortion HTIB systems.
Put that chick in the box too and I'm in.
Totally, right??
Unit has already been out in Australia for some time, so it should have been in its home country a long time ago.
christ do these companies think were made of money !! in a recession dammmmnnn
