If ever there was a product the mass-market really couldn't care less about 3D TV is it.

It's, at best, a cherry on top extra.
It's not a selling point (of any value to anyone sane) in itself.

Too many execs have lost their minds over this sort of thing, they have forgotten that at the end of the day for most it's still just TV.

Blu-ray doesn't need to add 3d, by the time they come up with something and hardware starts showing up there will be a better format out there. 3d is a waste of time. They need to concentrate more on pushing the studios to publish hd caliber blu-ray discs. Good quality, no sound errors, speeding up the bdlive servers that studios use. Stop with the horrible digital sharpening that some studios are doing. Stop removing film grain from the movies where it is intentional.

A well mastered movie with lossless sound (that is the default choice when you put the disc in, ahem, Warner Brothers, I'm talking to you) should be its primary focus from now on. Leave the spec where it is. Instead of an excellent movie we will get a stream very ordinary and instantly forgettable movies (if that good) with lots of showy nonsense like this thrown in.

It's a very poor substitute for a quality movie well written and acted.

and rely on their head start they should be able to get players to market first.
