ergh... I have a earlier Pioneer receiver with HDMI. Sounds great, but the stupid thing doesn't support HDMI audio, the best sound I can get to it is 1.5mbps DTS. I'm wondering now if upgrading is worth it, and which one of these would sound about the same.
I'm somewhat in the same boat, running a Harman Kardon AVR235 using an optical cable from my PS3 for BDs with a max of 1.5mb DTS track. My buddy bought a Denon AVR 789 and hooked it up to my setup, and I was quiet amazed. Once I get a house I'm jumping on a Denon.
