Hulu coming to Roku video player?
Hef's not exactly known for his tech punditry, but the latest issue of Playboy says Hulu is eventually coming to the Roku video player. We don't have to tell you how big a deal that would be -- we're sure half of you would drop cable immediately in favor of the charming $99 box -- but we've got our doubts about this particular rumor, since the networks and cable companies seem intent on keeping Hulu far, far away from the living room at the moment. Here's the thing, though: although Roku PR just told us they're "not sure" where this info came from, they wouldn't give us an outright denial, so something very well could be up -- only time will tell if there's truth here or if we're all just dealing with another of the bunny's airbrushed fantasies.

Well I guess I now know at least one person really does "only gets it for the articles".
I don't own a PS3, but the article also states that you can get Hulu on the PS3. That's the first I've heard of this. Is it true, or just another playboy fantasy?
I have a PS3 and it does not have "native" Hulu streaming. Hulu streaming is accomplished either through the PS3's Flash 9 enabled browser, or through some third-party software called Play-On. I haven't used Play-On, but I believe it works by streaming the content from Hulu to your PC, and then it's routed to your PS3 for playback on your TV.
Thanks for the explanation.
Thats neat and all, if US had better access to the net. I can't get it where I live, and I probably never will. Heres hoping someday that there will be an internet ANYONE can access, so we can all enjoy hulu and online gaming and such.
Hulu Desktop (and it is awesome) just came out, so this doesn't surprise me. They obviously are starting to cater to the living room crowd now. Hulu Desktop was made specifically for those with Media Center PCs.
Give me Hulu on my HD TiVo and the cable is GONE!
