This is good news and a step in the right direction, most studios allowed you to purchase Standard Definition movies on VUDU on release date, now you can purchase HD versions of Buena Vista titles...cool.
This does not address one of the biggest complaints from otherwise happy VUDU customers. It's very frustrating when you want to RENT a hot new release but it's only available for purchase for 2-4 weeks before you can rent it. This is simply maddening to users. Some studios allow you to rent or buy on release date such as Warner Bros, other studios need to fall in.
Exactly.. and they are doing it deliberately to stall the growth of digital downloads. Blockbuster and Netflix have rentals day and date so I'm not seeing why Vudu and other services shouldn't unless they are aware that if they do this they'll have zero Blu-ray sales.

I agree. It's very friggin' frustrating not to be able to rent a movie on release day!!!!
