Popcorn Hour prices C-200 media streamer at $299, launches next month
Looking for a more official announcement than a forum post? Beyond the read link awaits Popcorn Hour's official press release for the C-200 containing some of the details we so desperately wanted, like a July release window and price of $299. Otherwise the details remain the same with support for nearly every codec we could ask for and a front mounted drive bay ready for HDD or optical drives of your choosing. We sent over a query about the Blu-ray and Blu-ray live support mentioned, but were unable to nail down any new details -- we'd bet on being able to play back your de-AACS'd rips & backups but that's about it. Any other questions that need answering once we score some hands on time with this do it all media box?

Im a little confused, you can put a PC Blu-Ray drive in this? Aside from that, this makes me glad I held off buying the A 110.
Id like to know if it can output via the HDMI & component out & digital coax audio at the same time, and the composite video & R-L audio as well. Wireless N capability? Will it allow for IP or RS232 control rather than just the RF/IR?
I'd commit to buy if it could play back my stripped Bluray iso backups
Yes, I'm going to buy this if someone can let me know if it will play my blu-ray iso backups and let the HD audio pass through the hdmi onto the receiver to decode.
PCH can play a DVD ISO perfectly fine. I doubt it can handle the menus on BD (legally?) so I wouldn't count on having full BD ISO support.
Should handle the m2ts file INSIDE the .iso perfectly fine. You are just giving up the menus
This device WILL pass through the audio
Sorry to bother/ask this: But how is everyone ripping there movies/blu-ray/etc in HD to get them onto devices such as this? What software are you using? I have a Mac, is there software available for Macs that I can use to rip? Any/all advice would be great help. Thanks in advance.
Slysoft AnyDVD HD .. and i don't not believe it will work w/ a Mac ..
I this will play a ripped bluray iso using anydvd I might just get it. Not having to get up from the couch to change a disk is a Fat man's wet dream.
Why do you need a BD iso when you use ToNMT and AnyDVD-HD software to rip perfect .ts or .m2ts file (which is what I do) and my HDDVD's are ripped too!
Menu support ... Maybe BD live (who would want that?) .. Just the feeling of a "Full" disc in digi form ..
cool beans.
When you get that thing, i would love to know how it handles physical DVDs, DVD (ISOs, support for menus, subs, DTS and whatnot), and other SD files. If this things scales that content, how it would compare let's say to the Anchor Bay chip (like the one found on the Oppo 983H or BDP-S83) or the built in scaler found on tv's?
Second, the handling of BD and DVD region scheme, if this can do free region on both formats...
That's one big flaw in the Oppo S-83 (Not Oppo's fault, Thanks BDA), only region 1 on DVD and A on BD.

Anyone seen this thing yet? I'm curious about the heat dissipation. I have the PH A110, and love it for streaming just about everything over my network. The only problem (and well hashed out in the forums) is the crappy heat sink in the A110. There's a tendency, especially with large mkv files (read Blu-ray rips here) for it to overheat and cause the video to freeze up on you at about the 75-90min mark. There's ton's of ideas out there for the A110 for adding fans, expanding the heat sink, etc. all of which work, but are annoying and require home-modding the hardware. Anyone know if they've fixed the problem with the C-200?
