My PS3 browser is so slow, I rarely use it. It takes a couple of minutes to display the youtube XL home page. Playing a video in Hulu is hit or miss, and takes forever to load. It thrashes its hard drive interminably, and often hangs after playing a youtube video. It's not my internet connection because I have no such problems with my PC which is several years older than my PS3.
Don't think there's anything wrong with the hard drive. The unit's seen very little use and it's been doing this as long as I can remember. If it was a bad HD, it would have failed by now. On Windows systems, hard drive thrashing is caused by too little RAM. I'm inclined to believe the OS/firmware is at fault.
sounds strange. you should check that thing in. my ps3 browser is lighting fast- just a bit behind browsing on my laptop with firefox. i always watch tim and eric clips on youtubexl or adultswim.com and never have any problems...

sounds like your hard drive is failing. Nice thing is, unlike the 360, you can buy any 2.5" laptop drive and replace it (minus installing the OS)
