What we're watching tonight:- ABC (720p) has Samantha Who? at 8 & 8:30 p.m.
- TNT (1080i) has Wedding Day at 8 p.n.
- WGN (1080i) airs WWE Superstars at 8 p.m.
- History (720p) has Gangland at 9 p.m.
- NBC (1080i) has The Listener at 10 p.m.
- Spike TV (1080i) has TNA: Impact at 9 p.m.
I can choose to use !20p with those !080i broadcasts, correct?
Yes, almost all cable boxes will output in 720p or 1080i and some 1080p. It'll either upscale or downscale the incoming resolution from the station to the cable boxes output.
So if it says 720p and you had a 1080p, it would upscale it to display at 1080p.
If you had a 720p tv and the incoming signal is 1080i, it'll downscale it to 720p to display on your 720p tv.
Aww shucks, my comment was taken out of context. No, I already understand that. Before a correction occurred, the article contained exclamation points at the beginning of "1080p."
For instance: "WGN (!080i) airs WWE Superstars at 8 p.m."
Behold, the price of a witty comment at the expense of someone else. At least I can still watch the "Wedding Day at 8 p.n."
I'm not watching any of those... in HD or SD.
