You read that right, starting in just a few weeks all 65 NFL preseason games this year will be presented in HD on the
NFL Network. That is music to any NFL fan's ears and something we only wish we could get during the regular season. Of course the preseason is a whole different ball game, because unlike the regular season, most games don't air at the same time and are produced by local affiliates all around the country instead of by four national networks. We can only assume that because of the fact that all but twelve of these are re-broadcasts, that the live presentations in your local market will be in HD as well, but we'll have to wait and see. Speaking of waiting, we're still waiting to hear if this will be the first NFL season without a single SD game -- an HD snob can dream can't he?
Good to hear.
I don't think We are going to see every game in HD this year. Directv makes too much money. I get the directv sunday ticket for $280 per year. I subscribe to their HD programming for $120 per year. BUT........ I have to spend ANOTHER $100 per year to get their "superfan" package, which gets you every NFL game in HD.
I told them to shove that package up their A$$. I refuse to pay any more for my NFL.
Plus, every game in the NFL is broadcast in HD. So what does directv do to downgrade the signal to SD?
I am ready to cancel my directv and go back to cable.
I have read reports of people calling and threatening to cancel DirectTV and they have offered $20/month discount on Sunday Ticket + Free Superfan. I don't have DirectTV myself, but you might want to call and try it out. Claim that you are thinking about cancelling due to the economy.
That's pretty cool. Now if only I could actually get he NFL Network on Brighthouse/TimeWarner.
NFL Sunday Ticket!
DirecTV
No thanks to DirecTV... the NFL package is nice, but very expensive on top of your subscriber costs.
Too many unknowns with it and I don't want to pay per room to watch TV, nor the unsightly dish protruding from my house.
Other than that, not a bad idea ;)
There's always FiOS I guess.
NFL Sunday Ticket may seem expensive to some, but it much cheaper than going to a sports bar each week to see your team play. You always end up spending way too much when you see the game at a sports bar.
Agree with you mojo, and the author i guess...more games is better, even if it is preseason. Like you, i'm likewise pretty torqued at bh, and unfortunately the nfl network thing has been only one issue of crappiness lately. Even worse, i'm still stuck watching bucs games!
Eventually a good percentage of the regular games will be on NFL network as well. The only problem with the network is trying to get people watching during the offseason, that and the fact they think they can charge cable companies as much as HBO
"something we only wish we could get during the regular season."
Actually, every game is in HD this year. Previously, CBS didn't have enough cameras to cover all games, but this year they do. :)
YAWN!
three... more... weeks!
Every single preseason game will .... Still not matter
Just like last year.
Every game (aside from preseason, which doesn't count) was in HD last year.
So does this mean as a Comcast customer, I'll be getting NFL Network for free?
I hate Time Warner Cable. I hate them so much.
who cares? its PRESEASON.
the NFL needs to make their Sunday Ticket package available to all service providers. its beyond asinine to keep it chained to just DirecTV.
