Very interesting (and encouraging) to see that MS is definitely thinking about integration between WHS and MCE.
But, I'm not seeing a lot of clues that they are moving towards MCE actually running on top of WHS, which is of course the killer app that we all want. But, at least they're working on making the two softwares talk to each other on a lower level. I suppose once they have some functionality built out, it would be fairly insignificant to make their apps talk over the Messenger service instead of over TCP.
Looks like PP3 for WHS will make MCE a more powerful client of WHS, but MS if you're listening, please make MCE run right on top of WHS! We don't want another box doing the recording work any more. We just want the one WHS box serving up data and recording from TV directly, then we can throw an extender or streaming receiver (or even nettop PC) over in the entertainment center.
“An engineer explained to us that hundreds of ear impressions were gathered in the name of research, and while each one obviously boasted its own unique shape and size, one single characteristic remained uniform across the board: the entrance into the ear canal is not a perfect circle, it's an oval.”
