Comcast adds HBO to its HD video on demand lineup
We're honestly surprised it took this long, but Comcast has gleefully announced it is the first to offer the "full" HBO On Demand lineup in high definition. True Blood, Entourage, The Wire* plus the network's movie selection are all available now, so the only questions left are when is this coming to your local provider, or why are you still reading this instead of watching Snoop and Chris? Don't end up in a vacant.Update: Except, of course, as sideshowRaheem points out in the coments, The Wire wasn't filmed in high definition, so you'll probably be watching something else.

damn it cox step your game
the wire is one of the best shows i've ever watched.
The Comcast in Burlington Connecticut had been offering HBO HD On Demand for a while (no I am not confused I definitely have Comcast and they definitely offered HBO on video on demand in high definition) then they mysteriously stopped, so for me this is returning. I cant imagine that Connecticut was the only market who has already had HBO HD On Demand
It hasn't been on Comcast in Plainville. I've looked.
I remember seeing HBO HD On Demand in East Hartford a long time ago, then it did mysteriously vanish. I'm glad it's back, though; HBO has some of the best stuff in HD.
Yeah in California we had HD HBO On Demand a year or two ago. It was really crappy to see it go since they had the best movies all the time.
This is good news but all 5 seasons of "The Wire" were shot on video so they're not available in HD.
Huh? HBO has had HD On Demand for years. As while as every other premium channel.
sideshowRaheem is wrong: The Wire was shot on film, except from a few shots showing surveillance camera point of view (these shots could be upconverted without a proble).
So since the show was shot on film, conversion to HD is not a problem.
IIRC, the format for the wire will always be 4:3, per an interview I read somewhere.
Also, that's Chris and Snoop in the pictures (L and R), not Snoop and Chris. ;-)
SNOOP!!!!
I thought Snoop was a dood for the longest time.
