Blu-ray releases on July 28th 2009

Universal really comes to the rescue this week with a very nice slate of releases. As if Battlestar Galactica: The Complete Series wasn't enough -- although totally unaffordable for most people -- there is also Season 4.5 as well as the entire Fast & Furious franchise. On top of all that, there is 12 Monkeys which is a classic that we can't wait to see in HD. Fox also has a few titles this week including the first season of Dollhouse and Sony has the classic depressing drama, A River Runs Through It. The other really notable titles this week -- for geeks at least -- is a little Doctor Who and Torchwood, both courtesy of the BBC and Warner. This should give you plenty to watch in the next few weeks, which is a good thing since releases get skimpy again next week.

I want BSG SOOOO bad!!
They mean Dollhouse, the complete series, right? Wasn't it cancelled?
Not according to TV.com. The status is listed as "Returning Series" with the next episode scheduled for September 25th.
Shouldn't that be "One of the best dramas on TV"?
WTF is with the extra apostrophe? Pretty sad to have a typo right on the front of the packaging...
Maybe it was TIME's typo.
The actual box is correct. I don't know why the photo here is different.
Yes, Dollhouse and Sarah Connor were the two shows in sniper range for Fox, but Dollhouse, miraculously, survived the hit. Just watched the 13th unaired episode on DVD, and it was definitely darker that anything aired during the normal season. Give it time and it might---just might---approach the levels of greatness Whedon's writing team are known for. Oh yeah, BSG and Torchwood (and Doctor Who) have definitely raised the bar for what compelling sci-fi-based shows can and should be. A Rupert Davies collaboration with Joss or Ron Moore would be incredible.
I saw Epitaph One at Comic-Con, and it's definitely worth the price of admission on its own.
Drama's? Box art fail.
Battlestar is greatness, but unaffordable right now. I may wait and see if Uni releases the other seasons individually and pick them up one at a time.
Were you looking at the list price? The show is on Amazon for $199. It's a pretty good price for four seasons, a movie or two and extra goodies on Blu-Ray.
I heard 12 Monkey's wasn't bad. Maybe if it's $12 on Amazon I'll pick it up. Waiting for The Office in September! House and Life too please!!
Why is it so confusing trying to figure out the best way to watch BSG for the first time?
I mean, why are they releasing "The Complete Series" and something called "Season 4.5"?
Is 4.5 separate from the series or something?
Color me confused.
4.5 is the second half of Season 4.
All I ever wanted from Universal was Gladiator.
My BSG:TCS is shipped, be here tomorrow...
I've had Galactica for nearly a week, didn't have time to actually watch any yet.
