PSB rolls out a whole new Image-series speaker lineup
There's no shortage of quality loudspeaker brands that come to the US from its neighbor-to-the-north, and the incremental improvements to longstanding models flowing across the border usually goes without notice. But when updates are made across an entire product series, it deserves mention -- as in the case of PSB updating its Image lineup (not to be confused with its Imagine speakers). All in, there are eight new models that can blanket your HT setup: T5 ($899) and T6 ($1,199) floorstanders, B5 ($399) and B6 ($499) monitors, B4 ($299) sub-compact/surrounds, C4 ($275) and C5 ($375) center channels, and S5 ($799) bipolar surrounds. The Image lineup has always been value-conscious, so all those prices are per pair -- not the cheapest, but you've got to pay for quality. Interested? Hit that link for details.

Excellent. The somewhat local high-end shop had the PSB Image and I fell in love with them a year ago. I was listening to the B-25's. They sound a lot nicer then what you'd expect at those price points.
Now if I had some cash and a bigger place.
I can't put into words here the kind of performance you get from any PSB Speaker, especially the Image line. I have had used the original Image line of speakers for my surround set-up and I am a fan for life. I can't wait to read the pro reviews and listening sessions, If they conclude even better sound quality performance over the old line, I'm all in. I like the change from grey to black on the "face" and drivers have a more "high end" look.
I have the previous (current until now) generation PSB Image speakers in my surround setup. They are very crisp, clean, and pure sounding (although not as warm sounding as some other speakers).
I would love to set a full set of PSB speakers but I refuse to pay the absolutely crazy markup that high end stores rape people with. It is nearly impossible to find speakers like this for online purchase so there is no way I will ever get a nice set.
"bipole" or dipole?
The PR clearly says "bipole," but that might be an error. I'd be surprised if PSB's surrounds weren't dipolar.
I have a full set of the previous line of PSB Image speakers (6T towers, 9c center, 2b rears) and they are truly one of the best bang for the buck in its price range, which i guess is under $2000 for a 5-spkr set.
One of the keys on getting a good deal is to buy factory blemish models. Speakers that have small scratches on the cabinet's vinyl but otherwise looks and sound as good as the non-blemish ones. This gets cuts the price down another 10-20%. The price i paid for the top end 6T towers was 899 (no tax), over a year ago.
