Panasonic finally gets around to enabling Amazon VOD on 2009 Blu-ray players
Don't let us rush you Panasonic. But we were expecting Amazon VOD streaming capability when the DMP-BD60, BD70V, BD80 and the B15 Blu-ray players launched, then later were told it would be available by May. Now, in early August, comes word that a new firmware update has enabled access on all players (including the over 1000 HD selections on the service.) We know a few of you probably couldn't live without the DMP-BD70V and its Blu-ray / VHS combo, are you finding the new Amazon access included in the VIERA Cast streaming satisfactory for your needs?

BANG! Another one supports the streaming.. I love it.. Now I"m considering getting the Panasonic Blu-ray player. I buy a lot of HD content through Amazon and having the ability to watch it is awesome.
Amazon VOD is only 2 channel stereo, weak sauce. I hope they update that part.
"Amazon VOD is only 2 channel stereo"
I'll take good two channel sound over mediocre multi-channel sound any day.
If you must, you can effectively get Dolby Pro Logic Surround Sound from two channel. It not much more than stereo phase merge (center channel) / separation (rear channels) with frequency filters. You could build it yourself for a few dollars.
I swear I thought the picture above was photoshopped. Blu-ray / VHS combo!? Is that a joke!?
Isaac-
Nope, that's the real deal...you know for all the high tech VHS people out there that just happen to want a Blu-ray player as well.
Jeff, the button that says "reply" is what you seek...
NETFLIX!!!!
Thats what I was thinking until I checked the Netflix site to discover they onlu have 200+ HD titles and Amazon VOD has over 1000 HD titles!
I just updated my BD-60 and I got two new windows in VieraCast that says coming soon. I would love Amazon VOD,
If you buy a movie or TV season does it stay on amazon forever? How does that work? There an option to rent or buy.
Look's cool.
Is it me, or does the door on that player above say "VHS"?
