All United Football League games will be on in HD on Versus and HDNet
When there is one sport far and away more popular than any other, its no surprise that everyone wants to get in on the action. Case in point, almost twice as many people tuned into watch a pre-season scrimmage NFL game on Sunday night than did to watch two of the most popular MLB teams play each other in a race to the playoffs. The newly formed United Football League (UFL) is hoping to cash in on some of those fans. The league consists of four teams and thirteen games (including playoffs) that will be broadcast in HD on Versus and HDNet starting on Saturday October 10th. While we'd rather see a new spring league formed, we can't ever get enough football so we'll be tuning in to check it out in the hopes that it makes it to a second season. Although we do question any league that would purposely schedule games against Saturday night college football.Read - NFL Preseason Ratings vs MLB

I hope they have better luck with VS than the NHL did. Many missed all the playoffs.
I think they should've waited until they got at least 8 teams. I know they are supposed to have more later on, but if no one watches UFL this year, they might not want to continue with the league.
Plus, I can understand Orlando and Vegas, but another New York team and Bay area team this early on? They already have the Giants, Jets, Niners and Raiders. If they worked harder on getting L.A. in there sooner, this might be easier to sell to people. Rose Bowl is fine for now, then worry about building a stadium later.
I'll probably still watch if there's nothing better to do, but having only four teams is kinda lame.
I agree having the other 4 teams would be better, but it would have been even better to play this as a spring/summer league. Start the weekend after the NFL draft and go through the summer. That is the true dead time in the NFL.
I'm just glad there is SOME competition for the NFL.
What competition are you referring to? The NBA? MLB? I know you're not talking about this 4-team, joke of a league.
The most competition the NFL ever had was the XFL and that was a total failure. Don't get your hopes up here.
give us a new orleans team. we already lost our arena team since the arena league has folded
i hope this league has better luck than the xfl
Really? You want some knock-off football league in your city? I suppose it wouldn't be bad if they use a pre-existing stadium for their games, but would you want another unused stadium in town when the league goes under? It's already apparently been around for 2 years without a officially starting. I don't think you should have any hope that it will last.
My friends and I are going to the New York vs Orlando game in Hartford, CT. Hopefully enough people go and watch so that the league survives and they put a team there.
I have Verizon FiOS and we have both of those channels available in HD now, but they charge extra for the VS channel. We got it some time last year, but included it in some "Extreme" package that has no other good channels. Since I already have a plethora of HD channels, and Sports Soup is the only good show on it, there's no chance of me paying for it. I'll just suffer with the SD version for that one channel.
I really hate when sporting events are broadcast exclusively on pay channels that most people don't even get, but I'm always surprised when the league would want to limit their viewership like that.
On a side note, eHD, is your photoshop person just learning the program or are you letting the janitor do your graphic design? Whoever it is, he or she left a lot of blue from the original around the bottom of the logo. Very sloppy.
I lost HDnet on Bright House/Time Warner I do have VS Versus. I bet like every other league NFL will shut it down.
The USFL was the best. I loved the Tampabay Bandits
